Rurrenabaque
On Thursday, my ankle was actually a lot better, the bandage must have been a marvel healer. We got this tini tiny plane to Rurrenabaque. It is not a squillion metres above sea level like La Paz so it is warm & tropical - v.v.nice.
There was a Dutch couple on our flight, Martin & Janita, & they suggested us joining together to do a Pampas tour as it would be cheaper. We found some other people that we had met in other places, Ed, Manu & a turkish guy, & we all went to book a trip. Martin got v.v.bossy & Janita got really mardy & pissed me & Chloe off as they wanted to pay nothing but have an amazing trip & were being ridiculous & wouldn't compromise or co-operate. I decided we shouldn't waste the day trailing round agencies when nothing was getting sorted so we left M&J to whinge at Bolivians & we went to the big outdoor swimming pool & had a really really nice time.
We had lunch & M&J were quibbeling about the tip saying that 2blvs was the right amount to leave, despite 10% being 20blvs, they were real scabby fucks.
We booked the trip & then went to a bar, I didn't drink much, me & Manu left as we had to get up early & were being sensible. When I left Chloe she was surrounded by Isralis. Ed said when he left her at about 2am, she was downing triples at the bar, so the next day she didn't enjoy the 3hour jeep ride over rocks & the 6hour canoe journey in the piss rain, especially the part where we got stuck in a sinking swamp with insects all over us.
There were loads of Capebara & alligators & massive birds, which was amazing, but it was v.wet&cold.
The next day we went on a 5hour horse trek & it was so so so brilliant & Cazza can I please have a go on your horse when I'm back it was amazing & I gallopped & loved it. Chloe had a donkey that wouldn't move because it felt the need to eat at all times so she didn't enjoy it as much.
After lunch me & Manu went swimming in the river & there were loads of pink dolphins all around us, then we all went in the boat again to spot monkeys. There were lots of tiny marmaset things, they were v.v.noisy. It was boiling & lovely. Then in the evening me & Manu went on a night-time alligator spotting trip with Hector the guide, & I held a baby one. Manu kept telling me off, because on the way I found a big toad & picked it up & tried to feed it flies & then Ed dared me to stroke a massive alligator on it's head, both of these things he said were a bad idea. The next morning me & Manu got up to watch the sunset, but it was quite lame. I don't think Chloe enjoyed the trip v.much & didn't do a lot of the activities but I had an amazing time. We got the canoe thing back, it was roasting, so nice, & all the terrapins & alligators were basking on the banks.
Before we left M&J were twats & refused to pay for the beer they drank as they said they were promised free wine & didn't get it. Me & Chloe shouted at them & Martin called Chloe 'girl'. They were such wankers & I hope someone steals all of their things.
When we got back we went to the swimming pool again & went out & decided to not bother getting our flight back the next day as we were having too nicer time. When we were at the bar Manu said that I behave like I'm on coke & why am I so hyperactive all the time? It made me feel reckless & free & I got really drunk & had a great time. The next 2days it rained but it was fine as we sat around eating & watching films.
Manu 'joked' that I was a child & he had to look after me because ''the one time I don't tell you what to do, you electrocute yourself''. I was trying to put this strip light on next to the hammocks & I was clambering up & fiddling with it & it turned out to be the fuse bit not the switch & a huge jolt went along my arm & it felt like at the same time a bear ran into my legs & my mind went wierd & I thought these were 2different occurences but of course they were not & then my brain came back & I was shaking & I cried & cried & went to bed & my arm got really stiff & painful but it was ok the next day.
Yesterday me & Manu got motorbike taxis to this women's handicraft commune thing. I got some budgies made of wicker, which I'm blatently going to crush in a week. The women were so so friendly, they kissed us on the lips!
Now we're back in La Paz for the night before we move on.
